Cooper Development has access to over 100 financial institutions to accompany private lending and to offset risk should additional funding or refinancing be needed to finish the subject property. The company principal, J. Melissa Cooper, has raised and guaranteed over $25mm in her real estate career.

 

Construction

Cooper Development has an in-house Master Builder and General Contractor, and Building Inspector on staff to assess rehabilitation cost, eliminate properties based on risks that might be unforeseeable to the an investor outside of the space.

 

Zoning/Ordinances

Cooper Development has relationships with high-level county and city officials and the appropriate attorneys to handle zoning ordinances and appeals, variances on change-of-use requests, and permitting.

J. Melissa Cooper – Principal

J. Melissa Cooper is an active real estate investor and developer in the single family and multi­family space, in addition to managing a portfolio of rental properties. She has experience raising both bank and private financing, as well as extensive Boston real estate market expertise. Over her real estate career, she has raised and guaranteed over $25mm in acquisition and construction loan financing.

Ms. Cooper navigated a successful mid­-seven figure exit from an Internet career services business in 2014. Her background in staffing and hiring lends itself to the successful sourcing and negotiating with various construction contractors and subcontractors.

Ms. Cooper has a Master of Science from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University. She is also the author of Freelance Nation, a how­ to book detailing her experience starting a business on a shoestring budget and growing it successfully to acquisition.

Aaron Shane Albright – General Contractor/Builder

Aaron Shane Albright is an experienced corporate executive with 20+ years multi­faceted background as a commercial and residential builder, construction manager, general contractor, and building inspector.

Mr. Albright is the founding principal of Albright Construction, LLC. and is an officer of Cooper Development Company. Mr. Albright is a Master Builder and has managed up to $180mm in new apartment building construction for Empire Construction.

As a National Construction Director, he has a proven track record of building up to and over 100 buildings per year for companies such as Family Dollar and Advance Auto Parts in a nationwide capacity.

Mr. Albright also has served as a building inspector in the state of North Carolina for 12 years.
